    New toy in use

    I finally got the new hoist assembled and put to use the other day. I put the Bag Lady on it and finished scraping the remnants of the cylinder base gaskets. It was so nice to have my work at a height that is comfortable.


    The added bonus of having a place to set my beer, tools, and parts was too cool.

    There is a ber in the pic, you just can't see it.
    I also had a visit from Hobbyman yesterday. He looks like he's doing pretty good.

        "Cookie sheets"

        Big honkin' aluminium cookie sheets... the kind that bakeries use.
        26x18 inches... with a large lipped edge all around.
        Check behind local bakeries and such. They usually throw them out when they get a little ratty.
        Perfect size, fits nicely between the tires, holds all your tools and parts. Stops stuff from rollin' offa the lift.
        I mean.. you want to be professional, yes?

              ...especially concerning the first photo.
              I mean...
              "Of course your bike runs like hell.... look at the condition of that engine!"
              Then I realized...
              Oh, that WildKat... and her artistic expressions, etc.
              That, in the photographic world, is called "Framing" the subject, in this case, the hirsute John.
              But in this instance, the picture is a little too "busy" and the bike still remains the main focal point.
              Unless, of course, that was WildKat's intent.
              Maybe she wants us to believe that she is the first person to actually have photographed the ellusive "Engine Gremlin'!
              Or maybe...
              ...she is working on making a "Tech Tip" and wanted to show a picture of a bike with a damaged head.
              One never knows anymore.

                too cool

                Seems the only thing lacking is an adjustable height stool on casters... If/when I get my garage back plan to make one of those. (the lift, got the stool )
