His last jump to the light fantastic!

Yeah, I saw it on the 6:30 evening news tonight, he was 69 y/o.

He's the one on the right as you are looking at them!

I don't know for sure if he was the original MC daredevil jumping cars, trucks, etc., but he did become one of the most famous!?

Yeah, just read that myself. To be honest, I'm amazed he lived as long as he did. He was a pretty unique character, for sure.

        To a Legend... R.I.P.

The movie 'Easy Rider' and Evel Knievel were both very instrumental in reinforcing my continued interest in motorcycling, not that either one was indicative of my M.C. lifestyle.

Not only was he unique in the world of motorcycling and trick riding, Evel Knievel was also instrumental in changing the publics attitudes towards motorcyclists in general. He represented an alternative of recreational and practical use of motorcycles to the 'biker's' tough image and persona of illegal activities, gangs, violence, drugs, etc.

Gone but not forgotten. Long live Evel.

I always wondered why a guy who spent that much time in the air on a bike didn't go for light aircraft :-)
          The legend will live on.
