Harbor Freight has those flap sanding wheels, but the finest grit is 120. May as well just take a handfull of gravel and grind away on it a bit! lol.

And yes, I'll polish on mine for a while yet. At $199 for each side... I can buy a lot of rubbing compound.

"All is right in my world once again..."

...and I know how important that is to all of you.

        Spent all of ten minutes.
First, used 2000 grit sandpaper. Figger'd I'd "wet sand" it so the particles don't clog up the paper(Also, 'cause it was rainin')
Used BlueMagic Headlight Lens Restorer as it was $2 cheaper than McGuires.
It was too easy... so I did the taillights on my Blazer, too.
Then the taillights on my other son's blazer.
I can't comment on it's uses for anything else, such as windscreens or visors, but it works well on plastic lenses.
(Actually, the 2000 grit did most of the work, but I had to use the polishing stuff too, 'cause I paid for it)

[QUOTE]... buy new lenses for the beater.QUOTE]
No Fred... I was the "Beater", my son was the "beatee".
It's better now that he's older and learned to behave.
Used to be I couldn't take him anywhere.
        "I'm tired."
        "I'm hungry."
        "I wanna to go home."

It was one thing after another...

        '93 Mitsubishi Mirage fer $500.
The only thing I found wrong with it on the test drive was the loose nut behind the steering wheel.

            "Ahhh... child-rearing"(and I don't mean spanking)

            Sorry, Ray.
I read that "Kid's Rant" years ago in a parody article of how an abusive father should discipline his children.
Actually, it was quite informative... how to mold those little snots during their formative years.

Looking back... If I had it to do all over again... I'd probably use a wider belt.

                  "Frankly, Mason, I'm surprised."

That may be how they do things in California, but in most states, parents just spank.

Do you mean concerning the sanding and polishing?
If so, I agree that the sand paper did 90% of the work, and the compound just made it prettier.

Went to the local auto parts store purchased CV Headlight restorer/defogger, paid around $20 dollars for the kit and restored the headlights and taillights on my wife's 96 Plymouth Grand Voyager. It been over a year now and the lights are still clear.
