  • Off-topic: Reno trip recommendations?

SWMBO and I are heading to Reno (via cage) for a weekend get-away November 9. Anyone from the area have a recommedation on a decent place to stay, or what shows might be good bets to attend?

Hope to stay near downtown, take in a show if any look good, do some minor gambling, then a trip up the west side of Lake Tahoe. This is mostly a sight-seeing trip.

Have looked at the Reno web site, don't see much in the way of prices or packages that might be offered. Would be in town November 9 - 10. Any info / advice / recommendations would be welcome.

    Jerry,
Go over to Harra's and get their "card". It will give you a discount on the hotel room. With the card, you should be able to get a room for about $79 per night, or less. That is what I did with my friend, and we saved some good money. You then swipe the card when you play blackjack, and get points. Also works on the rest of the machines and tables.
Don't forget a little time, about four hours, at the car museum.

You can go to the wicket in any casino, and get a book of 'deals'. There are usually free tokens for some of the big prize slot machines, free hands at poker/BJ, Deals on drinks/food/rooms, etc etc.
