As some of you know, I recently purchased a '79 Special that had only 30K on the clock and the engine is in prime condition except for the shine of Pathfinder. I plan on putting it in Pathfinder this winter so I wanted to do the tranny fix first. Yesterday I took all the covers off and some of the other stuff and today I took out the secondary shaft and did the fix. I did notice that there was no sign of wear at all on any of the dogs or pockets!!! Not even shiney spots. Now its back together except the covers, but except for the pan I'm gonna put the shiney ones from Pathfinder. Just goes to show that experience, (doing it many times because I couldn't get it right the first time) really helps. Out, ground the parts and back in in one day!!! However, almost broke my arm patting myself on the back. LOL
