Ran out of gas

Ran out of gas the other day.....made the walk the gas station, dumped in 5 litres, try to stert up the XS and no go, pulled a plug out and it was dry, drained a couple of float bowls and plenty of gas in there......to make a long story short the problem turned out to be a plugged Xhaust pipe thats right! The bike has a Supertrap exhaust and lived up to its name, it trapped carbon between the baffle plates, as the bike stumbled and stuttered to a stop after runnin out of fuel the carbon broke loose and plugged the exhaust.....after darn near drainin the battery trying to start the engine a light went on in the ole noodle, removed the baffle plates (loosened them) and the bike fired up easily....thats whats you call an engine that cant breath! And I was almost ready to call for a toetruck!
