  • Any XSives in Florida?

I've seen a few posts but are any of you also around So. FL?
I know that riding a bike anywhere south of northern Palm Beach Co. is akin to suicide, but would like to see who's out there. A ride around the Big O Lake would be awesome.
    Get back with me.

Lake Okeechobee 747 skeeters, that's what windshields and visors are for. You have to worry more about birds than skeeters. An unexpected heart to heart meeting with a 2 pound bird at 65MPH can knock a little wind out of you!!

Yes, have a boat - 21' SeaCat with twin 90hp Yammies. Does real well out in the ocean and shallow as well. Did you live and fish in FL also?

Thanks for the compliments on the bike and the welcome.

I lived in Bradenton for about a year and a half back in the late 80's. Liked the area a lot, good fishing too.

When I fish the west coast I typically fish Charlotte Harbor/Boca Grande area.

Lived several places in Florida, last 4 years was spent in Largo.
            (between st pete and clearwater)
Fished almost every other day when I lived there. From where I'm sitting right now it costs about 4 grand to go tarpon fishing for less than a week and my income lately doesn't seem to want to support it.
Did live down in Del Ray Beach for about six months but like the west coast better and moved to Bel Air, got married out there and moved to Largo. End of 1981 moved back to CA CA land.
CA CA land would be close to ideal if not for our politics so have been thinking about making a trip back to Florida, maybe in the south west, Napels or Marco Island area.

I live in the backwoods of Sebring in the boonies. Ride my special every day to work in Avon Park. It's an 18 mile one way. Being a high school band director, it is the best therapy available.

That area of Tampa Bay is quite nice and the fishing is still productive thansk to the conservation efforts going on.
Funny you mention Delray Beach, I lived in Boynton Beach for about 5 years when I separated from my now ex. Back in Jupiter now and on the water. Following a couple of shots of my young one's catches behind the house. He'd rather fish than eat.

                  Same fish, different view.

Here's a redfish I caught at the beginning of summer.

BTW - You don't have to spend $4K to go fishing just come over and I'll put you on fish.

Was it you that was looking for a tank for the G? I saw a post in the parts wanted and saw a brand new one on ebay but they wanted top $$ so I ignored it.

Have you ever taken a ride through the lakes area NE of you?
