I'm starting a new thread since the old one has been hijacked

Hey Malber,

I haven't joined because I don't have any decent photos of my bike, it's paint (rattlecan) is rather chipped and such! I'm planning and hoping to do a custom paint job on it with my XJ gas tank conversion this fall/winter! I just have to teach myself how to use a HVLP paint gun, and an airbrush! I've got some great ideas, just have to find a way to get them onto "canvas"!

BTW, I just received a notice from Sony's IMAGESTATION, and that they are getting out of the photo hosting biz, and will be closing Nov. '07!!! So...if anybody has albums there and don't have any copies/backups of their posted photos they might want to go to their albums and D/L them! Just an FYI!

How does one upload pics to the site? Do you have to register?

Yes, I believe you must register as with everything else nowadays.

Already had a yahoo mail account so it just piggybacked on it.

I joined up...

and it told me someone else was using that e-mail address for a Flickr account
(which explains all of those strange e-mails I received awhile back)
I had to use another e-mail to sign-up with a different account name... neither of which I can remember at the moment...


I was able to load a pic on there when I first signed up... but saw that there are some REALLY nice pics that have been posted by some very talented photographers

It doesn't have to be just for photography. You could also share images of your paintings there. After I'm done with photoshop that's what I feel my pictures are.

Flickr is part of the Yahoo! service, so if you were part of the old mailing list you already have an account. If not, yes you will have to register.

To get the url to post photos from Flickr to the forum click on the image you want to post. Then on the right hand side click on "See different sizes." Then click on the size of the image you want to post, medium or large is best for forum posts. Scroll below the image to option 2 under "To link to this photo on other websites you can either:" Copy the url from this form field then paste into the forum with the appropriate image tags.

**Editted** Trapper, although it's an HTML URL link, you want to use the IMG button and paste the http://photo url link into the popup window, and then it will display like above! T.C.

Well poo, didn't realize that link wouldn't work anyways, didn't try to use it first! Looking for your album NOW! Found it. The end portion of the photo when I'm looking at YOUR ALBUM/PHOTO has a few characters after the ####.jpg ie. "?v=0", I just removed that and pasted the rest into the IMG link!
