Just saw a news bit on TV about an electric motorcycle. The inventor was trying to do burn outs in the parking lot and it got away from him and he crashed. They stated that it would go 0 to 60 mph in 1 second!!!! Wow, we thought our XS's were quick!!!!

Yeah, I saw several posts about an electric drag bike on the net. Sure the power on that one is awesome but didja see the battery life? 21 seconds at full power and they are flat. Even if they are I forget the type modern superbatteries they still take 5 minutes to recharge. This means it takes 14 times as long to recharge 'em as it does to run 'em down. OK, electric vehicles are getting better, or at least, batteries are getting better, but they ain't made it yet.
BTW 1) The energy transfer rate when pumping gas into your tank equals an electric charging rate of ~3 MegaWatts.
BTW 2) For an electric drag car or drag bike, why use a battery at all? A quarter-mile of paired bus-bar strips in the track is all you need, right?

        Interesting KillaCycle Facts

The KillaCycle uses about $0.07 worth of electricity for each run down the strip.
        The bike only uses ~300 W-hr / mileā€¦ including the burn-out
Including burn-outs, the KillaCycle could make 7 or more runs on one charge
Recharges in as little as 10 minutes. (Limited by charger. Battery can be recharged in 5 minutes.)
Zero to 60 MPH in 1.04 seconds, 45 feet.
Silent, aside from the chain and some tire noise.
        The KillaCycle weighs 619 lbs.

Stupid is a bit of an understatement the guy said he does not usually drive the bike.
