  • Annual Oyster Run 23 Sept 07 (PNW)

PLease dont shoot me. I just need to make sure as many folks that can make it get the word. I would like to get xs/xj owners in the area together for this event. If interested please call/pm/ or email me. More info at oysterrun.org

This is a really big event with bikes of all kinds from all over the states and Canada. The 26th annual oyster run culminates at Annacortes, WA., But bikes and bikers are everywhere in the PNW that weekend.

We could plan a group ride and ride into Annacortes together. The earlier we arrive the closer to the festivities we can park. I think it would be great to roll in together on these classic bikes.

I can meet as far as Seattle to ride. We can plan a gruop ride through Burlington/Mt Vernon, Deception Pass, Deception Pass State Park, Whidbey Island (I would like to get pictures of our bikes under the sign at Classic Road) Fort Casey, Ferry ride to Port Townsend. Could ride Old Hwy 99 or Chuckenuaght drive near Sedro Wooley. Just some ideas. Coupeville WA down on Front street to eat at Toby's Tavern or Tyee restuarant
    Lets get together!

    Oyster Run Update

The Washington State Dept of Transportation has posted driver information on thier website concerning this event. Over 10,000 motorcycles are expected to be at this event in Annacortes WA. and drivers should expect considerable delays on SR 20 from Whidbey Island and Burlington to Annacortes. Multiple Road construction is taking place throughout the area. Motrocyclist should use extreme caution when entering these construction zones.
Happy Motoring, be careful cagers may not be patient with ya

          Oyster Run XS11s Represented

Had a great time at the Run. Met Jkorn Titanium Tom and his friends Tom and Bob from Idaho, all XS11 owners. Bob said he has a special with 12K miles that he picked up from a guy that had it in storage for 10 years. He was having carb issues with it so he decided to ride his special with 110K miles on it. He made it from Idaho just fine. Titanium Tom rode his special out also and his other friend Tom rode an XS400 from Idaho. Jkorn said he has two 1979 XS1100F standards and has one up for sale. I am so stoked that I got to meet these guys at Annacortes. I pray Tom, Tom and Bob had or have a safe ride home. I posted some pictures in the previous post for all to enjoy.
God Bless America, Motorcycles, XS1100s and thier riders.
