Well, I dunno how this thread segued from bike photos to one's favorite music but here goes:-
Best for serious thinking;
Albert Schweitzer playing Bach's toccata and fugue in D minor on a church organ.
For a lighter mood;
The Black Dyke Mills Band playing John Philip Sousa marches.

Yeah, the Toccata and Fugue in D minor is a very powerful "tune" on a pipe organ, but I also liked the version that Walt Disney had recorded for Fantasia using strings, still has a great melody, but not so MOROSE! I'm no classical music guru, just happen to be familiar with that one. What's funny is that during my mother's time...born 1927...they referred to classical music as "LONG HAIR" music!
I wasn't into music that much as a preteen, but started paying attention to the radio more around 13/14 years old. Then I remember hearing about a band when I was 15(1973), and they had this studio double album out....black cover with the 3 faces of the members.....Mark, Don, & Mel! It was Grand Funk Railroad.
I had gotten a little combo radio/record player for Xmas, and I must have played it a hundred times! But that's when I knew I liked Rock & Roll, albeit a bit southern style with GFR. While in Florida, I had an older cousin that introduced me to ZZ-Top with the Tres Hombres album! Then moved to Texas, and another older cousin had a collection of rock/roll which included Led Zep, and from there I started collecting albums. I have to admit that my tastes run more along the top 40/100 style of Classic Rock/roll, and because of the radio stations that I had access to I didn't get much exposure into the deeper cuts and lesser known or popular artists that have great works out there!
What I found funny was Trbig's comments about Led Zep, Robert Plant's vocals....and I thought similarly of Rush's work!? Shows you how tastes can vary! But I've always been more into the instrumental stuff than the vocal stuff, another reason why I HATE OPERA, but like various forms of classical / orchestral stuff!
I also got used to hearing the studio versions on the radio or record, and I hated hearing "LIVE" versions of these artists and their works, much less dynamic, and many times speeded up, and didn't follow the melody or notes exactly....makes it harder to play air guitar and drums that way! So I didn't attend my first concert until 1976, in DFW, saw a 4 band megashow, Fleetwood Mac, Steve Miller, Bob Welch(previous Fleetwood Mac lead singer), and Little River Band! Me and my best friend rode my little TX500A twin 4 stroker 200+miles from San Angelo to go there, and when we got out, found my Pioneer 8-track Supertuner and 40watt 8 band EQ/AMP had been stolen from my hardside saddlebags! Made for a quiet ride home!
I've seen Tower of Power(soul-funk group) in Hawaii, also George Carlin in Hawaii, Willie Nelson in Japan, ZZ-Top in Virginia(still have the keychain ), Barry Manilow...for SWMBO in NYC, that's about it!
Pink Floyd is near or at the top of my list, with ZZ-Top, Led Zep, Beatles, GFR, Eagles, Tull, Yes, Stones, and on and on! I've got about a 1000+ record album collection, along with CD's as well. I've converted/recorded much of my records onto CD now, but still have some to do! Has saved me lots of $$ not having to buy 8-tracks, then cassettes, and then CD's of all of my favorites every time a new format came out!

Too bad you're not big on Rush, TC. They're live shows are nearly flawless renditions of their studio work. In fact, they've improved the sound on their live stuff so much it usually sounds better than their studio work. I've never heard them uptempo a song...they have amazing consistency. They are obsessive about it. I remember seeing an interview with Geddy Lee talking about their consistency years ago. He was the same way...why play a song wrong, he asked? He said there's nothing more disapointing that hearing a band live and the music isnt the same key, or the tempo is different, or the high points are all moved around. Screws up the whole experience. I have to agree....
I've seen Rush live 12 times since I was 13. They truly are masters of the stage. I've been to many dozens of concerts over the years, and none can compare on sound quality. Their sound people must be geniuses. The only other bands I've seen that I can say comes close are Aerosmith and Incubus.
