      Congratulations on two counts

one for the the ride- it's a unique piece of kit incorporating features that aren't found on many bikes (monitor system, intragal braking system...) and

second for finding and posting to this site.....the is the foremost authority for this type of bike.....I dare say there isn't a question/problem you may encouter with that bike that this site doesn't have or can't find the answer to.

Although I have yet to do it.....be sure and get some pics up

        Re: New XJ rider

Just thought I would update. The PO just handed me the original tool kit with all of the original tools (every one stamper "Yahama" and the yahama service manual in great shape. Not a bad "add-on" he found in the garage.

The bike does have 30k on it, but for this age of bike, that is peanuts. I have tens of thousands of miles in it for my riding pleasure.

I have pics on my camera and will look at getting a hosting site to post them in here this weekend.

Most bikes around this time frame were pretty much wore out by 50k miles. MANY members on here report having over 100K on theirs. Riding styles will change things... obviously since I seem to get @ FIVE thousand between motors... lol.. but yes, you should look forward to many thousands of miles to go.

You'll fall in love with this bike and end up keeping forever, so you may as well be on the lookout for a spare engine to rebuild at your convenience to have ready in case that one ever does fail. It won't be such a big hit in the pocket book that way! lol..

And you just missed the Tahoe Rally!! The good news, you can plan for next year. You do have two other riders close by, BlkMge and DragXS.
Welcome to the ownership of the bike that will own you. It's NOT a bad thing, just FUN.
