  • starting another rebuild ...

Good to see a lot of familiar names still so active. I am about to start rebuilding another XS1100E. I bought it last year as a parts bike for the last one, but ended up not using it for that.
Right now I am wishing I was on an 1100 back in July when I drug an exhaust pipe trying to ride a new "Cruiser" (Kawasaki VN2000) like it was an XS. Not much ground clearance on those cruisers, drug the exhaust on a dip in a corner, flipped me and SHMBO out onto the concrete. They tell me the 5 broken ribs and collar bone will heal eventualy! I learned a valuable lesson, ride the right bike for the road you're on!
I'll be back asking more tech questions as I dive into the rebuild, but wanted to say hello to everyone first.

It's either the pain or pain killers... I forgot how to spell ... obviously SHMBO should be SWMBO .....

Sorry to hear about the tumble and glad your going to be OK so you can build the "real" bike you still have in the garage.

The Kawasaki sure is a comphy ride, but I guess you have learned the hard way there not sport crusers. From what little I've seen of em they appear to be very dependable and low mainenance.

Dumping "SHMBO" on the pavement can be ...
Hope you guys heal soon, older I GET THE LONGER IT'S BEEN TAKING , still have a couple issues from a little spill almost two years ago.

I saw Sancha (my previous XS11E) on ebay .... She's still on there until tomarrow.... Too bad I spent all my money on the Kawasaki and the Hospital bills!
But there's always her sister in the backyard, just waiting for some TLC ...
