I bough some of those a while back but have not used them yet .. You do know that they are plastic eh ... I had to soak mine in hot soapy water to get the packaging off the tops but they were OK

Hi GS,
who you calling lazy? I will admit to incompetence. Thanks for the complete link. The 12 digit ebay code was all I really needed. It's deducing the e-bay motors/parts & accessories/motorcycle parts/asian/intake & fuel systems string that would have defeated me.Fred Hill, S'toon

And now Rob says they are f***ing plastic! Just as well I'm too cheap to spend $20 even on what I'd suppose to be chromed steel. Like the book sez, you can't see those inner covers anyway, right?Fred Hill, S'toon

And as he started to click the buy it now button, he read that they were plastic.....
Bah! They can't possibly hold up for more than a few years, I' d imagine. There's a fair amount of pressure on the diaphram springs...
If I could, I would remove all the plastic from my bike.
I do like the chrome goodies though. I imagine I'll be making a trip to to platers whenever I finally get around to the final build.80 XS1100SG

I was wondering about "poly-chrome." I got a couple of black plastics when I first got the bike they are my inner pair.'81 XS1100 SH

I did not say they would not work. They are thick and i don't think the plastic would deform from the spring pressure. I would also "hope" that they are made of plastic that can withstand a fair amount of heat. They do look good and i intend to use mine on the modified bike.
