Helmets are required in Missouri and even when I ride over to Kansas since I have it with me it would be pretty stupid not to wear it.Harry

Indian Larry of biker buildoff fame was killed(accidental suicide) by doing stupid bike tricks in a parking lot at 20mph because he wasn't wearing a helmet! Nuff Said!

Personally I hate helmet laws...should be a matter of choice...no matter how dumb it may be. Not gonna get into politics here though. I wear a shorty...police style helmet. A couple weeks ago in N.C. where the heat index got to be 118+ I may have not worn one.XS 1100 LG

Helmet
Always wear one if is down to the store or for a trip. I have bounced my head off the road a couple of times, they did come in handy. I even have a spare. I don't know how some people ride with t shirt shorts and sandals, and got there girlfriend/wife on the back with halter top and shorts, sandals. They have NEVER dump their bike and had ROAD RASH or they would not ride like that. When i was young and dumb i rode a 100 miles(1942 model 45 HD) with no shirt or helmet got first and second degree wind and sunburn. Didn't do that again! Leather jacket and helmet and boots now. Thanks Tom

Always a full face, I do also wear a jacket, regardless of outdoor temp, (occasional exceptions). gloves optional, occasionally boots. I like to ride, but I like to keep myself all intact, so I try to be safe.I am the Lorax, I speak for the Trees

I usually wear my fullface and jacket. a short blast to the store or a really hot day, I'll break out the half shell, and might ride in a tee.
I have had road rash up both sides of my body at differant times when I was young. Once off a skateboard booking downhill and slid 20' or so and then into the gravel. Wearing shorts and a tank top. Healed in a couple weeks. second on a ten speed doing about 35mph. went to turn on fresh blacktop and the oils made the reaer tire go out from under me. Slid about the same that time (wearing shorts and a tank top again) and into a curb. same healing time. Thankfully no broken bones in either one.
If I am out for a long ride, leather boots/shoes, jeans (until I get riding pants) full face and gloves! And alwayswatchin out for idiots who don't look out for me.1979XS100SF

I'm alive to annoy y'all because I always wear a full face helmet. The crash back in 1983 would have finished me off for certain with out a good bucket.

- - - always wore a helmet, always landed on my arse. And that's good insurance. My pear-shaped body's aerodynamic qualities must have helped that happen too. Family considerations in my 20s and again in my 60s led me to attaching a sidecar. I never fell off a sidecar rig but still wear the helmet, if nothing else the visor keeps stuff from blowing into my eyes. That and these days there's laws about it.Fred Hill, S'toon
