  • Labor Day weekend in Dallas/ Ft Worth

Okay y'all... time is getting close... Dale_1 (as far as I know... Mark... are ya still out there?) is going to be playing drums in Dallas on September 1.

The plan, at the moment, is to meet at our house on Saturday and maybe BBQ... then ride over to Dallas and jeer Mark on... I mean... cheer Mark on.

    Hope everyone can make it!

Almost forgot 'bout this one. Filling out vacation request now. I gonna pull a friday off, jeer him on Saturday and cruise back on Sunday. NO RAIN on this trip, sun screen is easier to put on than rainsuits.

What kinda bar is he playin in? Do I need to start stashing my dollar bills?

What's up... is we all meet at John and Kat's and eat their food, drink their beer, and terrorize their kids... OOPS!! Or is that just me?? lol. John was saying this weekend how I like to spend $30 in gas to come drink $10 worth of beer... lol.

Most like to bring a little something to contribute, or put a little money in the kitty (As opposed to the KAT! lol) even though they'll never ask for it. Then we'll go cheer on Mark like he really can play and try to get him famous so his wife can leave him and take all his money! : ) (Nuttin but love Mark.. lol) Then we go back and terrorize the kids again... CRAP.. Sorry.. that's just me again.

If you can't ride an XS/XJ there, ride anything (We won't make TOO much fun of it) And if you can't ride anything, you can always just show up in a Honda car like some..... (Nuttin but love Dave and Cindy!)

No problem at all. I'm no big fan of any of the teams, but I guess I could go and piss some people off rooting for whoever they play?? lol. We could go see all the sights, do all the tourist things..... Forgot, this is Ada.

How about we go to the local gun and knife club for a beer?? lol.

Just let me know when you are coming to town. The bike is not running great right now, but should be in a week or so. Definately by the end of the month when I'll be heading down there for this meeting in Hurst/ Dallas.

So... that makes two and maybe three for the meet... anyone else?

                    Yes... but...

I try to bring my own also... it's just that once I put it in the fridge... it's theirs!
and then you come back again... and it's yours again... It just works so well!

Most like to bring a little something to contribute, or put a little money in the kitty (As opposed to the KAT! lol)
                    Ahem... *smack*

We collected some money at the Meeting of the Minds to cover the cost of food... decided to keep it and will add anything contributed to the next Meeting of the Minds in June. So far... we have about $130... (there were a couple of very generous donations from some very kind people...)

Hey Spidey... I don't think those bills will be needed at the place Mark is playing at... well... unless you meant them for the bartenders and waitresses... and the band! can't forget tipping the band! (especially the drummer)... but there ARE a couple of pretty decent places around these parts to stick them if you meant something else... not that I would know, personally...

and Tod, by my count... we already have 4 - 5 bikes... John, Me, you, Spidey and maybe bigjames there (Hi! by the way and welcome!) not certain what Mark is doing for mobility since he will have instruments... I don't see him packing them on the back of the XS... but ya never know...

                    Mark? Are you out there?

yes im out there for sure

Just been busy at the new job.... and then had to pop off at the mouth and three days later got signed up for this audition , and then....... popped off again about JazzZoneDFW needing a music director and lo-and-behold another job....... well.... the one that pays the bills currently has me fixing copiers..... the IT portion of them at least. Cool job... trust me on this one....

I will definitely be there, I have a rehearsal Friday night in an undisclosed location.... Saturday night at I-35 and Motor St. in the South Stemmons Tower.
that's between Motor St. and Inwood or is it Enwood???

go to the website to find out more info. The club's name is Mardis Gras.

the web address for JazzZone is

                        http://www.jazzzonedfw.net

the web address for Mardis Gras doesnt exist as of yet but they have had several "write-ups"

                        http://www.pegasusnews.com/places/ma...cafe-catering/

                        http://music.dallasobserver.com/sear...php?oid=106165

                        http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...20Dallas,%20TX

admission is 10 bucks and as the music director I take no part of the band tips, so tip all you can. I always start it off by tipping first. A little seed money.

The singer I am auditioning for is Roosevelt Wade, a very impressive blues singer. There are some clips from him on JazzZone DFW's home page.

For those close enough, I will be playing on the 18th at the Joe Pool Lake JazzZone Family Day Potluck. I will also be auditioning the rest of my band for the 1st. My choice of who plays and who pays to show up. Noon to 8PM check the website.

geez my posts are gettin longer..... sorry once again......
more to say 'cause its been a long time?

ok Kat and TrBig go through the text with a fine toothed comb and give me all the flack you can!

                        Thanks for the support

See? That's what happens when you aren't around for a long time...

but it sounds like you have been SUPER busy! VERY cool! Glad I read this when I did... we might... stressing might... be able to see you tomorrow (not that you will see this message before then... but ANYway...)

Maybe make Friday the 31st a bike day... Anyone that needs some tweaking can do it then... You can feel free to work on your bike as well....

Saturday do the BBQ thing and mount up for Dallas...

                          Any preferences?

Being on the 1st, Renee hasta be here on the 31st and 4th so she has to bow out on the friday takeoff. Soooo, I will secure a hall pass and proceed with the friday takeoff and the sunday return. The lack of a tailgunner DOES NOT mean it can go ahead and rain on me, so the order for fair and sunney still stands!!!!
