  • Godzilla Roars!

    Hey Folks,

Thanks to John/Oldbiker648 last Friday week, I was able to capture a little demonstration of Godzilla doing a simple 20mph rollon power wheelie on video, no clutch dumping tricks!!

So...I've just uploaded it to YOUTUBE for your enjoyment:

That was cool, TC. That should convert any nonbelivers.

            Hey John,

I was just in first gear, that was a tentative first attempt at the beginning and then I grabbed a bit more throttle on the second lift off! As you can see with my 4" over upper tubes, I have plenty of shock travel for coming back down with, and I'm still learning. I'm not doing it very often, so I haven't developed the big cajones to hold it longer, but I've learned to let it down softly!

Shortly before that, Oldbiker and I were running across a hwy crossover after a stoplight, and I got into it, and did a 2nd gear rise without trying!

Thanks Kurt, yeah I hope that vindicates me at least a little! I'm planning on some other action shots in the future, trying to find some fun sweepers/twisties that I can really get it leaned over in and have a video drive by shot. I'm also wanting to find a nice stretch of straight road to do a 1/4mile blast on, and try to get a decent timing of it with the camcorder counter, I'm sure I can break 14 seconds!
            Later,

The 4" longer forktubes will make it a little easier to wheelie. Fun, ain't it!!

                      Wheeeee!

Thats the sort of grunt I'm looking for. I'll have to stop finding reasons not to install my Wiseco big bore kit!

Sounded sweet too TC, well done.

                        Hey Pat,

Yeah, they do get the front end up a little farther, but there's still all the weight to lift.

I knew someone would mention the bags, but they are light weight aluminum toolboxes and storage box. I did have a few pounds of tools since I had to ride over 100 miles just to get to where Oldbiker lives, wanted to be prepared for trouble. But I also have those nice heavy forward controls made out of 3/8" angle iron and such bolted to the front, so they balance out the weight! Also had 3/4's tank of gas!

Pete, I am liking them very much, nice to be able to stretch out the legs and still be able to shift gears, apply the rear brake, and I can still come back to the OEM position when I want to! I've seen the ones that Scappod has been talking about. Another Xsive has contacted me about possibly making some more to that style...just round footpegs instead of large footpads, but I've got so many other things to do, like get my XJ tank conversion going so that I can put my machined Godzilla tank badges on IT! I've still got to learn how to spray paint, airbrush, etc!

Also, have to get a bunch of my new oil cooler/spin on oil filter adapters made for several folks that have expressed a strong interest in acquiring them!

And my apologies to you Stralya, I'm guilty of misreading and mistyping your NIC! It's happened to me as well, but I've got it straight NOW! Yes, the power of the big bore is nice, and mine's just the "little" one!

I watched your video of your drag strip initiation and you did very well as you looked calm and collected. On your 3rd. run you were late and let the V-Twin hole shot you but I couldn't tell if you caught him or not, but it looked like you were accelerating faster than he was on the big end.Drag racing is so addictive, don't you think.Very good!
