  • "Pathfinder" Please Remember

Wow, it will be a year on Sunday, July 22nd that I lost David. Seems like yesterday, I still expect him to walk through the door at any time and everytime I open my garage door, I can see him either asleep in the recliner or working on his bike. I was just looking at some of David's old post and laughing, I hope you guys never take those away. I have the book that Greg (Skippy) made for me and I wouldn't take anything in the world for that.

Everytime I get on here and I see a post by "Planedick" and I see "Pathfinder" Loving restored by Dave Delzell at the end of his post, it makes my heart feel so good and it would just tickle the hell out of David. He loved that bike so much.

Please keep David in your hearts and look up in the sky on Sunday morning and say hi and a prayer, just to let him know that he will never be forgotten.

    Love to you all, Cynthia

    Still riding...

I think Dave still rides because there is certainly an angel with me sometimes. There has been a couple of times when I know I was "saved" from a big crash. He probably don't want anything to happen to "his baby" so I'm protected too. I hope I don't scare him too badly. Everywhere I go I get compliments about Pathfinder. Those who don't know are really blown away when they find it's 30 yrs old. Those that remember these things are equally impressed.

You are probably right Dick, he doesn't want anything to happen to that bike.. I know I carry him with me a lot of times..and it seems like everytime I get really low, I come in contact with the SUV that is a Pathfinder and I always laugh and know that David is near...Thanks for sending the picture...And Adriana has the license plate that you sent her in a frame and in her bedroom...Tell Aurora and the kiddos hello for us....big hugs and kisses to you all...love, Cindy

        I know I'm new here...

But already I'm touched by these posts. I love the brotherhood that a special item or common ground can create. I'm not only into my 11 more every day, I'm also a volunteer firefighter and published writer. I've applied to join the Red Knights MC local chapter here in Perry NY. It's all firefighters riding for a cause.

I didn't know Dave, but my thoughts are with you.

            Heh heh heh...

            Cindy...

Not a NYC firefighter but thank you...just a volunteer in one of those small "Good-ol-boys" departments in farm country south east of Buffalo. If you ever get a chance, take a ride in rural NYS, either western NY with it's farms and meadows or upstate in the Adirondacks where the snow stays on the peaks all summer long! Route 2 or Route 3 are absolutely breathtaking rides.

WOW havent seen the bike in a while, but she looks like she is in good hands, I like the king queen seat and the bags, bike looks happy,
Just a thought, the gold stripes were going to be put back like the bike came from the factory, not sure if you like them but it did give it some character

                Much use...

Pathfinder gets lots of time on the road and almost equal time with maintenance and cleaning. I love to ride and I love Pathfinder at least as much as Dave did. Right now I'm looking to change the headers to get back to the original chrome. I think I have that problem taken care of and a fresh engine to run in it for a year or two while I bore out the engine to 1196 and rebuild it.

Dave would have loved to see the chrome pipes on the bike, there was always an eye out for a good set, in fact when I was working out of town I would stop in at bone yards and look for a set, we had even talked about sending the ones on the bike out to be chromed,
