Was watching Modern Marvels last night; they were doing a segment on motorcycles. (Repeat broadcast I think.) One they mentioned...Jay Leno's MTT Jet Bike. Seems a company named MTT on the east coast takes surplus helicopter jet engines and builds them into motorcyles, power boats, and such. Cost for the bike: $185,000.00. Clocked top speed on the show: 239MPH. (Clocked on an airport runway, not in traffic.) Engine weighs about 135 pounds, total bike weight is just over 500 pounds.
Leno says two problems: throttle lag and the fact that the jet runs better the faster you go. Off the line performance is not great, but roll-on can't be beat. Quite a bike.

They also showed the V-8 Boss Hog bikes, one was a 3-wheel conversion. They do imprssive burn outs.
