$200 for a complete engine with Free shipping?
I'd think it would cost that much to ship.
He has a good seller rating though.

This is going to be a pickup only auction.
No free shipping. Who is close to this guy? I know another lister who bought a complete engine for $200.00 so price is not unknown but is rare. Who knows, you might be able to get the rest of the bike for not a lot more $$ if you contact the seller.

You might want to look at the users in the Rallies section. There may be someone in the TX area that could help you out. Texas does cover alot of territory though....

            I already wrote him

that I can pick it up (it's about 35 miles from me)... but I'm afraid that I can't do much more than that... maybe make it to the Oklahoma border to hand it off to another rider... but gas prices, lack of current finances and other obligations are keeping me from going too far with it...

              Crazcnuk,

All you need now is the conrod bearings to rebuild yours! I personally think that's too much money for one of those motors that "Was running before I parked it..after the crash.." You should be able to buy a whole parts bike for that... and that's not even counting what it will cost to tget it there. I would definately ask what the compression readings were.. but without the bike warm and having ran, they still won't be right.

It's up to you, but you're almost there!

Heh, there is another set of rod bearings on Ebay right now that I am watching.

However, If this engine was close, I'd pick it up (after checking a few things, and get it in the bike so I can ride it. That way I could sell my Virago, which in turn would pay for the work that needs to be done on the other XS engine.

I could take my time getting my engine done. After all I have a 1208cc big bore kit, all new gaskets, will be putting new bearings, timing chain, and valve job, etc.. If I was in less of a hurry I would also look at advancing the cams, maybe going with 78-79 cams on the 80 big valve head etc.

Then afterwards, I could sell the temp engine to someone else who needed it.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...
