  • Look at what I got to drive!

My boss just got one of these....it is OMFG fast! Great looking, great sounding (especially when the supercharger is winding up), and rides like it's on rails. I was impressed.
    Hi...my name is Mike, and I'm a lane-splitter.

You can tell that I am too old now, I keep looking at that thing saying "I wonder if I could fit 2 cars seats in it??". Nice looking ride in 15 years or so!!!!

          Not likely,
          brother has a 67 Shelby GT 500
As Shelby made it, no additional mods turns 11's

13.4 could be right. It cost alot of money to put a car in the 11s.
The car is so light, that big motor would cause all kinds of traction problems.
If I had to have a car, that one would be cool.

If that’s "it" on a "new shelby cobra" then my stocker XS's might keep up and my hot rod XS would put em down

at a stop light in Temec the other day. I got a little hole shot on him but then finally managed to lose him in a cloud of smoke ..... in my 300D veggie burner .... NOT .... beautiful ride! I bought a 96GT brand new ....most amazing thing about it was that I only got one ticket the whole time I had it ....

I would politely disagree with most performance claims made regarding old muscle cars. Almost every review of the GT500KR puts the 1/4 mile in the 14.5 sec. range. The standard GT was slower. Even the '69 ZL-1 Camaro, what many consider the fastest muscle car built, is in the low 13's. A link for the GT500KR:

did have slicks, but pretty sure it was the stock 427 or 428 cobra engine that came in the shelby.

My brother let me run it and I hit the high 13's first run.

btw, some of the shelby mustangs where "special" ordered. different maifolds/carbs, diferentials etc...

You have a point with the slicks. Tires sucked back then. I'm sure there would be quite a bit more torque being applied to the pavement with modern tires!
