Fork legs?

So Wildkat gottem eh? Same seller is offering the front fork legs from a Special.
BNP $60 + $20 shipping stateside.
For anyone with a Standard XS1100 sidecar rig, swapping those struts in is a bargain way to reduce the steering trail for easier steering.

I didn't stop to think (shut up Tod ) that these are possibly off a 78... I have a Special... they didn't make Specials in 78... Will these have to be modified to fit in any way if they are for a Standard? or will they simply not work?

I actually used the search and found that they will still work with some possible mounting modifications...
I might be playing with them a bit more than originally planned... but that's okay too...

and Dan... I'll keep you posted on the left side... do you need one that has the crossover tube like these have? If these are for a standard... that would make a difference I would think... The set on the 81 at the moment, doesn't have the crossover... so something might come up either way... just depends on how playful I get...

They are special pipes and not original for a 78. If you look at the Yamaha web site -
link to Yamaha parts page
you can see that the standard exhaust has some sort of expansion chamber or cover at the crossover that the special exhaust does not have.
