  • Tennessee! Hide the Wimmen!

I’m headed out at O-dark-thirty Monday morning for Inzane 7, the annual Valkyrie Riders‘ gathering in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Sooo...a thousand miles out, another thousand back. Lots of riding in between. Johnson City sits on the edge of some of the best riding roads in the country.

As usual, work has been frantic and I’ve not had time to really prepare. The bike, with over 100,000 miles on her, probably needs attention. I need to find a map or two.

As usual, because work has been frantic, I really don’t care that I may not be completely ready. A quick oil change and a handful of maps will have to do. I’m going even if I have to walk. Or crawl.

Once again, I’ve been asked to coordinate the tech sessions, so if you’re looking for me, either ride at high-speed all over the large number of curvy roads in the area (hey, you might catch a glimpse of me that way!), or check the tech session schedule. Here’s a PDF (Needs Adobe Reader) of the schedule if you’re interested.

I need a break. I need the road.

    There are stories out there...

It’s once again time for me to go find them.

I’ll see you on the road!

    "Hide the Wimmin?"

I've seen some of the women in Tennessee... and I wish they would have hidden them better.

      Zero correlation

      Hi Pro,
a woman's capacity for passion has no connection to what she looks like.

Thank you Fred, you are correct.
Oft' times I type before I think fully.
T'was just my feeble attempt to appear witty and interesting.
(If memory serves... I believe you corrected me once before. Please don't make a habit of it. Bad for my ego)

Yes, Parrot-Head, you say that line now... but wasn't your wife the one who said it first?

Well, all I can say is I was just at an event with 80,000 other people (Flugtag!!) here in TN....and nearly broke my neck!! More beautiful women than I could possibly oogle at in the time I was there. Shoulda taken a video camera so I could oogle at them more later

You know, I had a girl from Washington send me a picture of her and her friends once. She said she was the "thin" one.

"Dan, you give hope to us horse turds everywhere."

Again, Fred's comment bears looking into again.
(though there is nothing here that I would care to look at bare)
I'm sure that all these women have fine personalities and charms(Plus, they can cook), but we choose based on our preferences and lifestyles.
I'm not particularly attracted to red-heads, so the one on the far right is out. Nothing wrong with red-heads, I've met many a beauty, just that that's not my preference.
In the same vein, Blondes I could take or leave, preferring instead the contrast between dark hair on light skin.
No, none of those women pictured, fine women that they probably are, would fit into my lifestyle(nor my car, nor on the back of my bike.)
Dating is a selection process. One selects upon needs and preferences. A hiring process, if you will.
I have a whole file here of applications that I've rejected.
(Just as I can imagine there are local women who won't be calling me back in for a second interview)

I dunno, I guess I have a self-defense mechanism in place for that sort of thing. I just looked at the picture (and grimaced), and already, as I type this, the image is fading from my brain. All I see in my mind is a few blurry blobs. Soon, nothing will remain.

I wonder what Freud would say about something being so persistant in the mind for so long?

I kind of agree with you JW. I don't think that image would stay in Cody's mind if he didn't subconsciously WANT it to stay there!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
