that is correct but!! the 1982 450 honda a has very high center of gravity anyone driving it would be gambling on a corner full of sand or gravel.

Kat, if you've got the nerve to ride it and an XS11, then you have what it takes to get it out on the track. I really enjoyed my time I went, just wish I could have gotten my superwheelie on video. You'll want to get some practice coming off the line as quickly as you can while keeping the rpm's up and the front wheel down!

Also, you'll need to check with your local track regarding the safety equipment they will require, like boots, gloves, leather jacket/pants vs. a complete leather riding suit. Some of these where I ran was determined by the speed/1/4 mile time you expected to run. IF you ran in the 12's, then they required essentially full leather coverage due to severity of road rash in case of a spill!!!

I had leather jacket, and leather chaps but was only mustering 14's due to my wheelying problem and poor fitting and feeling gloves that aggravated my finesse sense of the clutch handle!

GO FOR IT, and take video and stills and POST BACK HERE!!

And be thankful you aren't 200, you'll go quicker!

If you do decide to make a few passes, just take it easy the first coulpe of times, you will be nervous enough. But towards the end of the evening you wont want to stop!
After you get used to the whole sene and want to start leaving the line faster, to help keep the front down, slip the clutch alot off of the line.
You will get the hang of it and want to go every week.

Has anyone here ever heard of Peewee Gleeson, that guy weighed about 110 lbs wet and was fast!

              Have fun

                Well gosh...

if only Janis Joplin rode an XS11... then there wouldn't be a need for this site... would there? and to think of all the great bikes that would go to waste...

(alas... no time to watch the videos at the moment)

                  Thanks for the tips!

                  (long time no see GNEPIG)

I may just go check things out on Friday... I've never been to this track before, so uncertain of how things run... we'll see...

If I do run... I will definitely post the outcome

I sold my XS11 to a female, I think she handles it fine.
