haha nice. I noticed one FATAL flaw in that reply... a little sidenote in your potential financiers... it said SWMBO..

      You don't get to go.
      sorry

This guy was out of debt and was self stated he had "not much to go home to" including lack of a SWMBO. I dont have one of those either but i do have the student loans that would no doubt chase me much further than the motorcycle could take me. unless... Argentina?

Funny, on the ride into work this morning I was thinking how cool it would be to just keep on raiding past the Valley St exit and my cell, er cube and just head out. The credit cards would hold out for at least a couple of months and the BC only runs through $9 worth of gas every 110 miles (that's another gripe).

There is that SWMBO thing though...

          ***I*** could do this

...I wonder if anybody on the XS11 board would "contribute" to MY PayPal "travel fund"...?

If our house sells (*soft* market - so 'don't know when THAT would be...), after the divorce paperwork is filed, bills are paid, I could conceivably take the SG on an "extended road trip". THAT would be a GREAT way to "celebrate" my "freedom" (?!?!)

...any "backers"? (just testing the waters)

dont know about a cash donation over paypal but i can tell you that you would have a bed and a few hot meals and beer if you rolled through Des Moines!

                Me too...

I could do that, in fact have done that more than once. Just pack the stuff I owned on the back, which wasn't much after the divorce and take a year off. Cross country with lots of North and South diversions was fun.

Yes, I will throw in my $.02.

                  Yeah, I can afford that...

Will Paypal take a payment of .02? 2 cents times around a million is a pretty good travel budget. Make the difference between Roach Motel and Comfort Inn

I have been reading this guys journal. I'm up to page 26 (of 44).
I'm going to buy one of the Tshirts and help support him.
I'm travelling vicariously through his journal.
I lose my job in 14 days, I may join him.

If y'all (technical term) would just buy enough books I'd head to work one day and just keep on riding.

Here's a link to his new(est) website chronicalling his journey:

To help I bought one of his T shirts. His next leg might bring him near my home. If so I'm going to try and meet-up with him.
