    Hello All,
I have just bought an XJ1100J three
days ago. It's a little neglected but
that can be overcome. First project
is to rebuild the carbs and get it
running. I live in Mena, AR and have
    three other XJ bikes.
    Best,
    Jim

      Hey, Jim...
As Ken said, if you have a question...

To quote what I think Prom's really thinking...:

If you have a question, bother somebody other than me with it. Why should I care about your broke-dick bike. I got enough problems trying to get paying customers broke-dick bikes' running.
Ain't that right Prom, ol' buddy, ol'pal?

I was gonna finish writing... "ask me a question and I'll try not to lead you too far astray". (Nothing that would cause serious permanent damage, etc)
But I figgered with three other bikes, he probably knows what he's doing already.
(Just might need a few answers on 1100-specific issues)
But yes, John, I could have said, "I don't have any XJ's, so go bother someone else."
You forget, he's new and this was just an introduction. It's when someone has a problem and seeks advice that I turn on them. Much more fun for me, that way.

And such langauge, John! While that phrase is perfectly acceptable in military and mechanic's circles, I was shocked John, just shocked, to see it here on the written page.
"We shall see what T.C. has to say about it when he returns, 'cause I'm tellin"! (What a little weasle-boy I am)

Where is Mena? I think you're by far the closest xs/xj member to me so far.

                where is Mena

It is at the far end of that Talihina run ya'll went on a little while back........

                God that is beautiful countryside.

I always hated doing service calls down there too. You should see how hard it is to ride from Poteau to Mena and stop when you get to town.

                Welcome new guy!!!

Looks like we may be moving up to Daingerfield...... that'll put me 2 hrs closer to you and ....... I just love working on bikes.

Holler when you need help....... I went to school in Hatfield..... 'course I went to school everywhere!

Still no idea. I tried to mapquest it. Oh well. If you ever make it down Tucson way, let me know. I just got a new grill that makes steaks for people who work on bikes! It's a neat trick.

                      Guess what?

I'm a big ole ball of retarded. I'm going to go ahead and go brush up on my state abbreviations and pay attention to detail a bit while I'm at it!

Thanks to all for the very nice welcome. Not to worry about AZ or AR. Every now and then a piece of mail will take a detour through Mesa, AZ before arriving to Mena, AR. My youngest daughter used to live in Sedona and is moving back there this year. Hopefully I will get to visit her and meet some XJers in the Wild West! Sounds like a couple of y'all already know about the Mena area and the beauty of the countryside here.

                        Thanks again,
