    Wanna know what sucks?

When your girlfriend leaves to go to court (she works there on Wednesdays and has to borrow my car, not in trouble) and I realize that my keys are in the trunk of my car (b/c I am a dumbass that gets distracted too easily).
Now, I am stuck at home, had to call in to work, have no way to get a hold of her AND my beautiful XS is just sitting outside. Of course, it is supposed to be a beautiful sunny day here in Florida today too!

Ya know, if you were from Detroit, you would have been able to get it started....

Actually, another good reason to have a spare set or 2

          What sucks!

What REALLY sucks...is to hear someone complain about missing a sunny day's drive when your sitting looking out the window at four inches of SNOW and know you won't get to go for a ride for at least another five months!!!.....Now that SUCKS!!!....ha ha

            What sucks!

            What?

You didn't get the optional Snow Mobile conversion kit for you XS?

Seriously, I remember seeing something like that for dirtbikes a few decades ago, not sure if they still make such a thing, had a pair of ski's for the front tire, not sure what was put on the back, studs or something!?

Well, if you send me a SASE 6x9 envelope I can send you a copy of the video CD I put together for the NC rally, has about 40 minutes of riding footage, will make you feel like your out there on the bike during those long cold nights!!

Hey! Thats an old Kawasaki tripple. I bought one of those in 1973. It was only a 350 but had good power and got 20 miles to the gallon. I guess I missed the snow mobile opton because I lived in Atlanta.

A division of Chrysler used to put out a "Sno Runner" for a few years up to about 1970. Looked like a moped with a ski out front, rubber track replaced the rear wheel. Very narrow and unstable. Units were marketed to lodges and ski slopes for people to get around on. I've seen them at snowmobile shows and swap meets in the mid-west.

One photo, not real good, at:

There was also a 1971 SnoByke, looked like a Cushman scooter with a ski and track. URL is:

When I can't ride the bike, like to snowmobile. Have had a sled since 1968, same year I got my first bike. Yes, there are snowmobile trails in Arizona......

                          Paper clip trick?

If the paper clip trick Scott mentions is like the 'clothes peg spring trick' that we managed to use on a friends Honda 400/4 a few years ago then it's great - if you don't have a steering lock on.

The connector for the Honda ignition behind the head stock was pulled apart and the clothes peg spring was just the right size that the 'prongs' coming from it fitted into the right positions to get the ignition on.

We still haven't worked out why Jez had a clothes peg on his clutch cable though...

Honest this was really my mates bike too
