  • Wonderboy is heading off to become Superman (or is that Aquaman?)

Yes... the time has come... HobbyMan is heading off to the Merchant Marine Academy in July... and in honor of this most auspicious occasion... we are sending him off in XSive style... (since he won't be seeing an XS for a long... long... long... time)

When: weekend of June 16, 2007
Where: Hurst and Colleyville, Texas (somewhere between Ft Worth and Dallas)

Details to follow... there will be a Christian Classic Cruisers meet (lots of really nice cars) the night of the 16th that we (HobbyMan, John and I) are sort of planning this around...

More info will be in the rally section

    Christian Classic Cruisers
    You've mentioned this group before....
    What's the big deal?
A bunch of old cars with a little plastic Jesus statue on the dashboard?
The rally sounds like a nice idea.
Any get-together that celebrates HobbyMan leaving would be well worth the trip.
(Uhmm.. did I say that correctly?)

      I'd say something....

but there's been a LOT of lightning around here lately and I don't want to be the one to ground any of it...

Yep... CCC... for a trip back to the past:

      back to the present:

      and back to the future:

Don't let the pictures fool you... there are a LOT of cars at this show... By the time we left this one... there were at least 200 cars in the lot...

Ummmm... prometheus... you might want to reword that just a little... then again... you might not...

          I'm sorry...

I'll behave... but don't get accustomed to it...

It's prometheus' fault... again... always getting me into trouble... Between him and Tod it's amazing I'm still so innocent...

and HobbyMan... I wouldn't pick on you if I didn't like you...

              See WildKat, that's the difference...
I pick on him... 'cause I don't like him.
He's smart, and he's a young man with a plan. He'll probably end up happy and successful.
I don't like other people with ambition and drive,
              Why should I like him?

                Every other day?

My dear Sir... I will have you know that I am a very capable multi-tasker... I can pick on more than one person at a time... just ask my kids...
                ~he he he~
I don't like other people with ambition and drive
No Doubt! Absolutely annoying isn't it? Man! The way some people want to go and actually do something with their lives... and work for it... almost scary...

So I'm thinking (again... that's what? 3 times this week?)... ride Saturday or Sunday morning... grill out Saturday before the car show and I'll smoke a turkey (ever try to roll a turkey?) for sandwiches after the show...

Anyone have any suggestions? Keep in mind that this will be one of HobbyMan's last XS events for awhile... we need LOTS of people to send him off and make this memorable...

If more people send him off, will he stay gone longer?
                  That'd be quite the bargain!

be sure to remove feathers first, they really smell bad and taste worse when burning.

                    So HobbyMan...
you don't happen to get sea sick do ya?

                    ___________
A young Naval officer was in a serious car accident, but the only visible permanent injury was to both of his ears, which were amputated. Since he wasn't physically impaired he remained in the Navy and eventually rose to the rank of Admiral. He was, however, very sensitive about his appearance.

One day the new Admiral was interviewing three people for the position of his personal aide. The first officer was an accomplished submariner, and it was a great interview. At the end the Admiral asked him, "Do you notice anything different about me?" The young officer answered, "Why yes, sir. I couldn't help but notice that you have no ears." The Admiral got very angry at this lack of tact and threw him out.

The second interview was with a female Squadron Supply Officer, and she was even better than the first officer, and with a better file. The Admiral asked her the same question, "Do you notice anything different about me?" She replied, "Well, sir, you have no ears." The Admiral threw her out also.

The third interview was with a Navy Chief Petty Officer. He was articulate, looked extremely sharp and seemed to know more than the other two officers combined. The Admiral wanted this guy, and went ahead with the same question, "Do you notice anything different about me?" To his surprise the Chief said, "Yes sir; you wear contact lenses." The Admiral was very impressed and thought, what an incredibly observant Chief Petty Officer, and he didn't mention my ears. "And how do you know that I wear contacts?" the Admiral asked.

The sharp-witted Chief replied, "Well, sir, it's pretty hard to wear glasses with no ears!"
