Ran my first triathlon in Carmel Indiana last weekend. 400 meter swim followed by 10 mile bike then 3.1 mile run. Overall time 1 hour 12 min. 8:29 swim, 32" bike and 29:12 run. Have watched my weight go from 278 when I started training to somewhere in the 230's now. Want to reach my "fighting weight" of 225.

Only problem is that I am putting all of my miles on my other bike now and not the XS. We close on the house that we are buying in 15 days!!! Then I will have the garage to put the XS in to bring her back into riding form.

Try this link not sure if it will work or not.

Wow! Congrats on getting to your "fighting trim".

I expect I'd drop dead about 5 minutes into any of those events...much less all three together.

Kudo's on the race but that there is just plain AWESOME!

I'm down to 235 from a high of nearly 275. Damn it goes slow. 200 seems like an eternity away. I've probably eaten 2 cows worth of meat in the last 4 months....

I sure do miss carbohydrates, but alas, they are the Devil.

Now that it's warm I have few excuses left to not go get back on my mountain bike. I usually get 10 miles in, but it takes nearly two hours! Two long, heavy breathing, wheezing, coughing, muscle ripping and cramping hours....

I estimate it would take me several hours to complete a race like that. After all, there's the rest stop every few minutes for a smoke (try that in a pool!), maybe a beer stop along the way, etc...

Oh almost forgot to tell you. That effort was good for 11th place in the over 200 pound group. There were 35 or so competing in that group.

Thanks for the encouraging words JW and dragon. My next one I hope to break the top 5 in the over 200 pound class and take 5 min off of my time.
