Doesn't look like the cage driver was at fault. Still, the right thing would have been to stop.

Yes, I agree, the right thing to do would have been to stop. however, a simple thing like common courtesey is all too rare a find in these times, I feel for the poor guy. I hope he wasn't injured. it does appear he got himself in over his head. my thoughts and prayers are with him. on a less compssionate note, I guess the old addage proves true...15 grand and 15 miles don't make a biker. have a nice day all and ride safe.

I think in Massachusetts, it would be a violation not to stop.

              ouch!

In all the states I have lived in, A DOUBLE YELLOW LINE DOESN'T MEAN THERE'S A HOLE SHOT AHEAD...although I would have stopped to check up on the guy....Sometimes I wonder if Darwin hadn't run into folks on two wheels.....

That video showed up a year or so ago. Motorcyclists think they should've stopped, but when I showed it to non riding friends, they said there was no way they would've stopped. Too worried about possible reprisals, especially with they were with their wifes/gf, even though the motorcyclist was clearly in the wrong.

I guess that hard core biker image has the occasional downside.

EDIT: I should add that every thing I have ended up with the wrong side up on my bike, I have had lots pf people stop to help. Myabe I am not frightening enough?

In the conversations I never heard anyone say, "let's call for help" or even roll down the window to ask the bikers if anybody had a phone to call 911.

I would have been out of the car to make sure he was ok.
The cage got passed on a double-yellow, it sure didn't look like they were at fault. It more looked like dude was wanting to pass so bad he forgot to see where the road was going!
                  ****
I just watched again and had missed the last line in the audio. The guy say, "I'd a pulled over if there had been a f**ng spot to pull over."

Now that just pissed me off. How lame is that.

Being a large vehicle, he should have stopped and put his flashers on to warn others that there is a group of bikes and bikers stopped and wandering all over the road ahead!!

Yep, Pain, "Look! That old guy fell down and can't get up!" is more sympathetic than "Look! That biker got what he had coming!"

Something else missing this time - this is in Deal's Gap. If that motorhome stopped it probably would've gotten smashed into by a sport bike.

That said, I would've stopped. I would hope that people stop for me, but we, since we area the riders, do not, and can not, have the same view of the incident as a non-rider.

I am not saying what they did was okay. I am not a big fan of passing judgement on other's actions when I am not there for the entire episode, but we do need to be aware that some people really do look on us with somethign like fear, and there are times that gets in the way of normally good people, doing the right thing.

I dont fault the drivers at all. Nor do I think they needed to stop. They didnt cause the accident or had anything to do with it. Just looked like an impatient biker. The only thing that would have come from them stopping an RV on that road would have been another accident. There were plenty of other people there to help. JM2C

I agree, but most non-riders cant tell the difference between the 1%er thug bikers and the normal motorcyclist. And quite frankly, had that been a gang of 1%ers, it wouldnt have been wise to stop.
This brings me to one of my pet peves. The public needs to be better educated about motorcyclists and their bikes on the road. Too many ppl out there are completely ignorant and dangerous.
Of course it dosent help when a rider like this guy in the video dosent know how to ride a motorcycle either.

I guess you guys are right about the potential increase of problems by the RV pulling over... I would still want to make sure someone had a cell to call for help.

The audio in the movie still bugs me. The concern seems to be in the wrong place.
