First you find a place to park your photos on the internet, like Photobucket or some other place. (Many service providers will give you some storage room along with your account, might pay to check.)

When you want to have a photo show up on this site, click on the IMG button type the address of where your photo is parked. Capitalization is important, and be sure to include any special characters like the ~ key if it is part of the address.

For example, mac.com is my service provider. Along with e-mail, I get a folder named Public where I can store photos that will be posted here. The path looks like this:

I then add /name_of_photo.jpg after Public. In this case the address ends up looking like this:

The photo - pipesprings1.jpg in this case - will appear in your post:

Please note: I added the " " marks to beginning and end of these examples to keep xs11.com from thinking these were actual links; you do not need them when you type your address into the IMG line.

Keep your photos down to a reasonable size, I use 480 by 432 pixels (6 inches by 4 inches) at 72 dpi for general display. This keeps people from having to scroll left-right or up-down to see the whole photo, and downloads faster for people on dial-up or slow connections.

Hi Tommy ! As you have seen I am not the most "frequent poster " at this forum, and when I post anything - it is often a silly question! I started this thread with a question about how to post pictures here, and maybe I am starting to do things right? But I think the pictures maybe is a bit small?! You can watch one of my bikes here:

                    Hi Terje,

What you need to do is get the actuall image URL (web address) and not the one for your web page.

                    Here is the difference

Your web address that has your photos is

But you want to add the picture itself and that address is

So you would click the "IMG" button in the tools when you post and add the second address to the popup box.

                    and you will have this...

                    Hope this helps.

                        Hey Terje,

Also, remember, when you want to reply, click on the REPLY button while reading the thread, NOT the NEW THREAD button, like you did earlier....I've since merged your mistake with this thread!

Hang in there, you'll get it. I can appreciate the problem you are having also since English is most likely not your native language!
