hey thanks topcat for doing that i realized it too after i posted them. was gonna try to fix but i figured i would just make more of a mess.
yeah i was taking that into consideration as started cuting them up. i figured i would try and if didnt work try something else. i like your adapter i bought from you awhile ago.
i was looking for a certain style of bike when i started this project and was trying to get as much ground clearance as possible. the kerker did not give any at all. i hate myself for THROWING the stock exhaust away when i got bike. i just thought this stuff was everywhere, but found out the hard way when i started getting into the bike that it wasnt.
the bike has been lowered quite a bit. i also wondered what this might do for handling or weight distibution. thanks for great websit man!!!

its just taking the place of the banjo style fittings. just let me know what you mean. or maybe somebody else can. just eliminated the hard line from block to head and put an lines along with cooler in its place. just didnt see what the big deal would be, im always learning so feel free to inform me.

any body ever put a oil pressure gauge on there bike just to see what it might be? just curious what to look for when i bring mine to life. i primed the lines already and it reads, but climbs the more i crank it. so just wondered how much it would be when running.
im using the valvoline 20-50.
also any advice on breaking loose the clutch. running in nuetral usually work? i had everything all apart and cleaned all the stuff behind cover. i just bought a used one off ebay and stuck in there and didnt bother lubbing it(which i know to do now). wish i would have put a new one together myself but it is what it is. i didnt know very much when i started. still really dont , but a little more than i used to.

That is the ONLY feed line to the cams. IF you tap that one for a cooler, you MAY starve the cam bearings for oil. As the bearings are part of the head, you can see what may happen.
xschop is talking about putting a SOFA and oil cooler adapter on a single block. If he gets it done, I plan on picking up two, as I have two elevens that could use the cooling. I would opt for the cooler hook up at the filter, as it keeps the oil pressure from dropping to any one part of the engine.

I have an oil pressure gauge on my E.
I tee'd it at the OEM oil pressure sender so I still have the OEM light and an electrical (no plastic tube with oil routed around the bike) gauge in the fairing.
Typically my gauge reads 70 psi when the bike (and weather) is cold. When the bike warms-up and idling on a hot day it reads as low as 10 psi. Crusing speed (3000 RPM) on a hot day it reads about 40-50 psi.Pat Kelly

Adding an oil cooler at the head will in theory not lower the oil pressure.
(disregarding change in viscosity from change in temperature) The only disadvantage of tapping the head oil feed is that you do not get the same amount of cooling vs the oil filter cooler. If you look at the oil flow chart, that is a small portion of the oil flowing through there but all of the oil flows through the filter. One advantage is that the head is usually one of the hottest parts of the engine and cooling the oil supply line helps bring the temp down. The OEM SOFA could be tapped, but not sure how much of the oil would be directed to the cooler, I think most of it would just blow from the pump into the SOFA chamber, and down into the filter and up into the engine, and essentially ignore the 2 lines tapped into it!? What Chop is saying( I think?) is that the SOFA can be redesigned....like he's doing to make it a combo cooler plate and filter plate.
He's informed me that his design will be 1.5" thick. The standard cooler plate is 1", my sofa is ~1", so that's a savings of about .5", but IF your ground clearance is that close, not sure whether either solution would be okay??

well the ground clearance prolly to most poeple is pretty stupid in the sense that i would take an xs and slam it down like i did. realistically i could put it where i wanted it, just was stuck on a look i guess.
the lines i have on it i guess i didnt see how it would starve the head in the idea that the oil is still going where it needs to go just a longer route to get there but once its there should be just like it wasnt . i guess thats how i see it but then again i am more of a car guy so since this is my first bike project, im sure i will screw it up somehow.
