Should had a choice for "about even". We know how much we make, how much the bills are so we know pretty much month to month how much we can spend on "extras". We actually seem to spend less than we take home. Our policy is anything left over by the next payday goes into savings. Things like car insurance that comes due can sometimes shot a hole in things, but I plan for that each month when the preimum is due quartely. Usually when something is gonna clear a "C" note for a single item, we will let each other know first. I guess I really blew that one at the last car auction. But I think she knew I would not come back empty handed.
I guess having to prepare and follow budgets in my job overflows to the house money also.

      Lucky me....

She works!!! Spends her own money, provides health insurance, buys the groceries, pays for her own car and has a few 401K's, savings, IRA etc. I told you I was lucky......

Seeing as she is sitting right next to me on the couch with her own laptop, SWMBO is a peach, never spends more than we earn (wink)

Mine brings me all receipts first then I write her a check after I review the damages. Its all legitimate but still way to high. Oh yea its all I make.

I hate to say it, but Kim is the "low maintenance" one in our house. She does all the bills, and that works for me! I hate bills and balancing the checkbook. There is one exception, though. The shower. My wife would time her shower by when the water would go cold. A 40 gallon tank would be sufficient for most couples, I would think. I would have to shower first in order to get hot water. I just installed this a couple months ago:

Now I no longer worry about it.

She is the best thing that ever happened to me financially. I don’t even know what I bring home week to week. She dose all that stuff and has a great job to boot. To drag in another thread, I just wish she would ride with me. That way she would know where some of the discretionary income goes instead of seeing it sitting in the garage and not knowing why.

                      SWMBO?

Can someone explain what SWMBO means or translates to?

My wife has always let me buy toys within reason. I am the big spender in our household. She asks for very little, except to go visit the grandkids and has always made more money than me.

I have been blessed to be married to her.

                        Hi John,
She Who Must Be Obeyed. Comes from a series of Books " Rumpole of the Bailey" Rumplole is a Lawyer in London England. He refers to his wife by the phrase. PBS stations sometimes carry the TV version.
