But I don't see too much that says "Restore Me". It had been sitting outside for some time. It is covered in what we call 'West Texas Real Estate'. (Dust from the red dirt that is prevalent out there). Every surface that is black has scratches, the seat is junk, the pipes are rusty as hell and the mufflers have been cut short and butchered. The tank is straight, chrome on the tank badges is good and the fairing isn't too messed up. The wheels and rotors are in decent, useable condition, but the gold plating on the grab rail is flaking off. If I knew that the parts would be easy to come by, or replate, then I might restore it, but right now I have to say "No Way!" There is no title either, and that can cost a couple three hundred to chase down. It was listed on ebay as a parts bike, and I'm afraid that was a very accurate description.
BTW, the serial number is 4H3001017 Would that be the 1017th one built that year, or the 17th one built?
Mine wasn't in much better shape than that when I got it. Worse, in some ways. It took the majority of the last 2 summers to get it back up to speed.
Will take another for the final build. Got to get my spagetti pipes on too, ya know.
It's definately a long term project to get one back up to snuff. I was tempted to get my parts bike going as it was actually in better shape than the bike I was restoring, but I like to finish what I start. It's motor will shine brightly (in my bike) before I'm done.
It's a shame to see those spagetti pipes all rusted, as rare as they are...

Don't dispair.........Take your'e time & possibly merg two parts bikes into one! Call it the After Twilight? Shoot it only takes Time & Money! But Ohhhhh the end result feels & looks sooooooooooo good.
When I found my LITTLE problem I too went through @#$%^&**!!..........So sit back, salvage, ya never know where being XSesive will take ya.....
As for the ser. #, I think that would be the 1,017th in production.

That sure does look nice. I know you have probably been asked before, but what did you do about the gold plating? Is that paint, and if it is, what brand is it?
John, Been working on component hook-ups for the new Plasma. Hell of a b-day gift from the kids! Also been trying to figure out where to hang the pics after front room paint job! Five kids, between the two of us and seven grandchildren.
Watching one right now @ the age of 6-mo., Grandma is rocking him, so I get a little break.........
Gold IS paint. As for the brand, well it's in the garage & it is winter time cold! I think if memory serves correct......Rustoleum Lacquer Gold Metallic.........As with any paint job, prep,prep! One coat primer, wet sand..two coats gold,wet sand in-between coats, two coats Clear Lacquer....
Will double check on brand tomorrow.....
I also had thoughts of having stickers/emblems made....didn't follow through, hats off to ya! Look great!
BTW....Did use stripper to help break down factory clear. (And No, she wasn't 38-24-36! Dang-it )

Just looked over the April 2007 Eastwood catalog - looks like the Eastwood Rust Dissolver might be the ticket for those Jardine pipes. Haven't used it myself but it sure looks promising.
John I just picked my 2nd Midnight last weekend and she is in more parts then I like, but for $75 who can complain . Any way saw this on Ebay they look Black to me. and my pipe look a little better then this.
