    Princess Auto

    Hi Bruce,
while you are there, see if they have their folding shop crane on special offer. Stood in line at House of Tools to get mine at 1/2price as the doors opened. Turns any heavy lifting job from a herniating back breaker into simply adjusting the tie-downs and pumping the handle.

If I am doing a full tear down I strip the bike down to the frame and engine only. then I remove all the engine mount bolts and brackets accept the through bolts. With the through bolt nuts removed I lay the frame and engine down on a think blanket or layers of old carpet and lift the frame off the engine. I can handle the frame a lot easier then the engine if I'm doing the job alone which is often the case. I call this the "where there's a will ... there's a way" method :-)
