  • Ray "road" trip

Here's some shots from Ray's trip to France. When he showed them to me last year on his road trip through Oklahoma I thought they were very interesting. I wanted to share a few.

Ray traveled far into the mountains of France to run some tests in a "bombshelter" for the company he works for.

Check this out. Looks like a scene from a James Bond flick!

And finally...a shot of "Q" himself in the tunnel running tests.

Ray may be shaken...but I've never seen him stirred...

I have nothing against the French, politically..."

... And some of their wines are Ok, I suppose....
But, I find this picture a good commentary on the "maleness' of our two nations.
1: Our Ray, ever the tough guy, risks burning out his retinas from the high altitude sun, whereas the Frenchies sport shades.
2: Due to the cold, the Frenchies are all bundled up, but not our Ray. Just a few degrees warmer, there would have been no t-shirt to see... just Ray's manly chest and maybe a gold chain borrowed from Mr. T.
3: Ray, ever the stud, strikes a manly pose for the camera. The guy on the left's idea of manly, is to do the Gallic version of "I'm a little teapot". The guy on the right.... I can't exactly put my finger on it. Something, deep down, just doesn't seem right.
4: And yes, Ray is the only one wearing gloves. A weakness? Can't take the cold? No, not hardly. His hands are bruised and bleeding from all the manly barfights he gets in when he's down in the village at night, doing manly things.

I want to be like Ray when I finally grow up. (Don't we all?)

          So this was last year!
Maximan, some of the photos you just got are from my trip in February for work. But then, showing me in shorts and a "T" on the Island of Hawaii may make some of our brethren back East a little green. I will be in Longmont, CO the March 13 through the 16. I will be "working" at our plant there, installing more of those LED arrays. I'll be at the Hampton Inn on Main Street if anyone is nearby.

Trust me, my post was heavily editted before I sent it in.
As far as my masculinity goes, I don't feel threatened by him... but then again, I'm not a vulnerable, little French schoolboy, either.

(I had to play nice... these are Ray's friends, etc.)
Now, if it was our Ray standing like that, I would have been all over that issue!

So when I return to France in about two months, I'll try to get some more "007" shots from underground.
The shot with the two French "men" and I was taken in the French Alps, and the "007" shot is under a mountain about 150 Kilometers away. I was roped together with the two people, because we just climbed 200 meters in altitude to get there. The underground is the retired French nuclear missile launch site. If you look at one of the photos I sent, you can see a curved steel wall next to the structure. That is the capsule the people would live in, waiting to push the button.

Ok Ray...you "Teed up the ball".... I just can't resist- French Nuke Jokes:

"France warned Iran this week not to pursue their nuclear research program. In fact, France warned Iran that if they didn't stop their nuke program they would, you know, warn them again." --Jay Leno

What do the French call a well place nuclear weapon in downtown Paris? A: Proof that more inspectors are needed.

And finally...this is a REAL quote from a speech from the fearless, freedom loving French whore himself. Chirac made this statement concerning the threat of Iran using nukes against France. I couldn't make this crap up if I wanted to...this is what Jacques actually said...

"The leaders of states who use terrorist means against us, as well as those who would consider using, in one way or another, weapons of mass destruction, must understand that they would lay themselves open to a firm and adapted response on our part. This response could be a conventional one. It could also be of a different kind…Against a regional power, our choice would not be between inaction or annihilation…The flexibility and reactivity of our strategic forces would enable us to exercise our response directly against its centers of power and its capacity to act."

I bet Iran is quaking in their turbans over that one.

                  Ok ok I'm sorry...enough "Francophobia"!
