  • Dang me...

I oughta get a rope 'n hang me. LOL Well, I couldn't get the right size pilot airjet so I took a 210, filled the hole with solder, drilled it out same size as another 180. Works. When I put the carbs back on and fired it up, 1, 2, & 3, run great, 4 not firing at all. The jet I made was in # 1, so that wasn't it. So, I decided I would take the bowl off and have a quick look-see and make sure the idle passages were open etc. Did that, everything looked OK, hhhmmm, what now. Oh well, I'll put the bowl on and maybe change the plug. Putting the bowl on I noticed a metal on metal sound???? There was no gasket!!!! AAAaaahhhhh yes, I remember now, checking float height I took that one off so I could measure the thickness and set the floats without removing the rest, and sure enough there it was on the bench. When I installed the bowl with the gasket every thing works just fine. Just in time, the weatherman says Sunday will be an 80 degree day and I wanna ride.

For this reason and others I don't need to mention, I rarely get mad at a service tech. Unless he just won't "fess up" when it's obvious.
