I am the 7th owner. Lucky #7!! I only know because I looked into doing a lost title app when I got the bike for FREE as an alternative to paying $280 in back reg to DMV. For lost title, all prior owners must be contacted and if no valid disputes of ownership is made then the lost title app can be process. Screw that I had spent months restoring it, never ridden it, and it wasn't near enough price difference from back reg. Best $280 I ever spent!!!

I qualify for 2 of those....

I inherited my dads 80 Standard with 65k miles on it.

I also own a 80 special that I bought in June of 2005, was the third (known) owner, the bike only has 19k miles on it.

At 20 years old, im not quite old enough to be the original, but boy do I wish I was one. Just glad to be in the xsive state of mind.

As far as I know third owner of daily ride(80G)
Second owner never got it running

Have no clue who PO's or how many on the other 5 XS's I have.

Hot rod might have had just one or two PO's tho

Guess I would fall under the Who Knows catagory.......Venture to say 3 +. Is there web site for DMV database to find out? Have looked from time to time only to find ones for a FEE naturally. I kinda like one of those four letter words.............FREE! Just an 'ol cheap skate I guess.

I bought my XS650 new, so I'm my own PO on that one. It's not much better than the unknown POs on the XS11 that I acquired with 10K on it.

I'm not sure how many hands my bike has been through but do know that some of the people who owned my bike before me should not have been allowed to hold a wrench in their hands. They just didn't love the bike or understand what the machine.

                      third owner

I bought my 80 XS1100 from the second owner in 1990 with 22,000 miles on it. It now has about 80,000 miles on it. First & second owners, and myself were all firemen.

Most expensive repair for me has been the middle gear.

CHECK THAT GEAR LUBE LEVEL. It does not hold much, all of it can leak into rubber boot at front of driveshaft. Middle gear bearing can sieze and not a drip ever show up as warning.
It is a great big beautiful world out there

I know I am at least the 4th owner of my XS. a guys 2 owners ago used it for 1/4 mile drags. I was told it was running in high 9's. He is also the one that painted all the skulls on it. from town here and I work with him. he sold it to a young kid who paid 1200 for it. Laid it down scared him to death sold it to me for 400 six months later. I am not as crazy with the bike but would like to see it run 9's in the 1/4. Wonder if he has it on video!

frank's frame has at least 3 POs, the engine has at least 2. The gas tank and fenders also have at least 3 and the seat has 2. I guess as far as I know I'm owner 2.5 or so.

Only one vote, what BS is this?

My ancient brain blurs but I musta owned near a hundred of em over the years. Let's go with what I have now. Oldest first.
1970 BSA 250. PO's unknown, running when bought in 1991 and will again one day.
1980 Yamaha XS11SG. PO's unknown but some of them were cruel stupid ignorant & neglectful persons. Not running when bought in 2003, currently running like a train & hauling my sidecar.
1984 Yamaha XS650 Heritage Special. I am my own PO. Bought still new from Winnipeg Yamastore in May 1986. Now got 50,000 km on it, still runs good but leaks oil like a Britbike.
