Hello everyone My name is Shawn (yes I put my real name in an internet forum)I have two 81 SH's an 80 SG and two 78 XS750's
Not all are running. One 81 is my turbo project do out next summer. The other is my weekend ride and is mostly the wifes bike. One of the 750's blow up on my way to work about 4 months ago.The other 750 is still going but is showing her age.
The project bike is one I got back in 97 and have been proud to own ever since. That was also the year I first found XS11.com and was on the E-Groups mail list.I also remember when we changed over to YahooGroups.I went by Planecolor and my bike was PurpleHaze.Shes not purple anymore.Shes black and gold
I used to live in Delaware but moved to Florida back in 2001 and because of personal problems lost touch with everyone. Now I'm
back and will be able to help as much as I can.I am a painter by trade. I have experiance painting aircraft, cars, bikes, large trucks and so on.Right now I work for Nortrax (a company of John Deere) and paint constuction equipment.I also own my own little company called Custom Jap Cruisers specializing in custom paint work. located just north of ST.Petersburg FL.
Well that seems to be it for now.

    Hi Shawn,
Welcome back, I've only been with the group for a short time and I have found it to be very helpfull. There isn't a problem or a fix that hasn't been addressed here. If the problem you are having has not been addressed here there are guru's that are just waiting to challange it.
    so ask away

      "New OLD Guy?"

      What?
      He ain't old... he's only 36!
Why... that upstart! Probably doesn't have a gray hair on his head.
      (Sure, I'm 46... but I'm cranky enough for 96)
(Yes, I know he meant the old owners group, but that was before my time)

Welcome to the show, Xsive Power. Glad to have you.
      Not all are running.
Very few people here with more than one have all of them running. We feel your pain.

        Welcome Shawn,
Promepheus is our top tech here AND he looks damn good in leather pants too. Like he said not many here that have more than one XS11 that are all in top condition, but we try.
We should go for a ride some time, I live in Bradenton Fl, just south of St Pete. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only guy in Fl that rides one of these cool machines. If you have any pictures please share them with us.
I love the smell of Napalm in the morning.... It smells like......victory

36? 46? Young pups! I just turned 61 lads! But of course yer welcome at any age.
          Since you're a painter, I've a question:
I want to touch up the paint on my '79 XS Special, especially the frame below the battery. It is a bit rusted, probably from spilled battery acid. Any tips on prep and specific paint to match the factory paint?
Happy to have you aboard dude!

Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
          I've been riding since 1959.

            Largo?
Used to have a shop just off Ulmerton on Starkey Road.
Was a real nice area in the 70's, probably could not recognize it now.

              E. Liberty... when I repainted mine, I used a "medium nape" roller for good coverage.
Commando... I am by no means the top tech here. (Not even close)
I just run my mouth more than most.

I'm not quite 50 but I took the handle Geezer before someone else called me that.

I was in the local Yamaha dealer asking for something that hadn't been available for 20 or more years and just about that time I remembered being on the other side of a similar conversation and thinking "what a geezer." That's when it hit me, I'm the geezer now.

Sometimes I wonder if my mother was right and I shouldn't have ever gotten into the motorcycle business...

                Geezer
Hi my name is Tony and I'm a bikeoholic.

The old gray biker ain't what he used to be.

Don't be shy...we have a wealth of experience and skill here, and you're a big chunk of it.

My personal goal is to make it to Guru status without ever posting anything useful...and now I'm one post closer to my goal.
