  • Talihina Oklahoma Ride Question...

We can discuss this over in the rallies section, but I was just wondering if there would be any interest in a spring ride as well as a fall ride in Talihina to Mena Arkansas area. I am hoping that last year was the start of at least an anual ride in the fall, but was wondering if anyone was interested in the spring also??
I'm personally close enough to go alot more than twice a year, but it's going to be up to others. I just thought that by having more than one opportunity to ride, we might get more people over there. Either that, or it will back-fire and people will say, "Ehhh... maybe I'll go next time.." So... let's talk people! : )

I am in, but it is all a matter of dates. I think, during spring break, my Dad and I are going to ride up to the Smokeys. Since that ride was soo great, as long as it is on the weekend, I will be there. Weather is no problem, of course we have already proven that. Next time, I think I will bring a tent to park our bikes in if it rains The park is really nice. Maby this time, my Dad's bike will have some inline filters, unless we want to have another carb workshop. Lets see what happens.

I've thought about this all day.

I will continue to go to Talimena Ridge in the fall...whether anyone goes or not. I just love it down there and It's a world class place to ride.

There are several reasons I likely would not do a spring thing at Talihina...personally. First Oklahoma springs are about as predictable as a craps shoot. Secondly fall is much nicer IMO...cool and dry generally and the leaves turning are the bomb.

Also I usually do a long road trip (3000 - 5000 miles) in the spring and another in late summer around first week in Sept.

Throw in TeXSive and all the weekend rides to Arkansas and the track and west Texas to see family.... I don't think you count on me to be there.

Sorry...wish I had more free time.
