That is exactly what i did. I kept it horizntal by letting it turn one click at a time. The only absorbtion that could happen at my steadying hand if I has somehow holding up the lever. Damn, I need a inch lb wrench

Remember, if we are going to get that technical: What is the elevation? The higher you are from Earth's COM, the less downward force will be applied to the weight. Also, where the wrench is supported from makes a difference too. Lets see, if it is held at any other place than on/directly underneath the rotational Axis, torque will be applied. Ohh yes, similar to what was mentioned before, as it rotates clockwise, not only is the torque less because theta is greater than 90(sin(90)=1), but also this affect is greater than a straight rod because the vice grips are "swinging" under the pivot point. Umm What else? One quick question. Because the coefficient of friction is greater static than kinetic, is torque supposed to be measured while the bolt/ etc... is still rotating or while it is stopped?

                      math

Matrix algebra, not so bad. Diff EQ, whole 'nother ball of wax. Took it 3 times and was stoked to finally pass w/ a C. Nearly failed out of school 'cause of that stupid class. Of course, actually doing homework on a regular basis yeilds amazing results.

I did fine trough diff equ, it was when we got to infinate sequences that I was like, WHAT? I gotta B and have never used it again.

Oh, by the way, for all those concerned with my tools, the vice grips didn't even make a scratch on my craftsman ratchet.

Strange...what institution of higher learning requires upper level mathematics but no grammar?

I can (well, could) do differential equations all day long. Fourier transforms and circuit analysis, bah, child's play.

The only thing I liked about the grammar-type classes was literature. The rest was a pain. Learn to speak well and you will write well enough. Reading a lot can improve your grammar better than any teacher can.
