    mto cops

My brother in law in vegas(one of em) is a moto cop..... John had already been through the motorcycle courses like me... He was an F-117 crewchief in the USAF. The Air Force makes you take all those nifty courses anyway, or you can't drive on base. No helmet and die.... no insurance payout..... just like the seatbelt regs. If you opt to not drive on base anyway and decide no MSF class then no payout there either if something were to happen. But, there have been rumors for years that if you don't have a class and get hurt, they make you pay the medical bills out of pocket. So, I always ride helmeted and I am also a card carrying MSF rider.

The experienced rider course was a breeze..... I took mine on the 81 Special... oldest and most maneuverable bike in the class. (imagine that) I really think it had to do with the amount of miles we had run together.

John and his partner spent over 8 hours a day riding in tandem..... after about 6 months he said he thought exactly like his partner.... checked side street traffic in the exact way and everything. So it stands to reason someone spending that much time together thinks alike. Look at Billy and me..... When we are riding (staggered) just the two of us, we work traffic together like a true team. He is my best backup..... He needed this last weekend run to get a little time with someone who wasn't his dad..... It helped him alot. First 50 miles or so he was kinda freakin out a little. Thanks to everyone who rode around him he now understands a little more than he used to about riding in a group. I can explain it but can't just inject that into his brain.

      Riding buddy...

Scott, the guy who bought my '79, is a very experienced rider and we ride "side by side" a lot, whether on the freeway or city streets. Nice when you can depend on your riding buddy to not weave into you even at high speed.
