  • How I became XSive

One of the reasons I became an XSive... It wasn't necessarily by choice... but I'm glad it happened...

    As for my main scoot...

    Ode to the FJ

I woke up just this morning
    And what did I behold?
    A clear and pleasant sunrise
With just a hint of cold.

    It warmed up very nicely
And I thought it would be good
    To ride my motorcycle
    Out of the neighborhood.

I put on all my leather,
Then my helmet I did don.
I then put on my gloves,
    The FJ I climbed upon.

    Excitedly I turned the key
And then it roared to life
I would soon be on the road
    Away from toil and strife

    My excitement soon went southward
As the FJ coughed and sputtered
I thought, “Oh Here we go again.”
As it died with a shudder.

    This week the carburetors
Last week it was the clutch
Last month it was the battery
    I haven’t ridden much.

It started the day I bought it
    But died along the way
It’s been a real big PITA
But I love that D@^^ FJ.

    "Do you.. Haiku?"

I have a feeling, Wildkat, that you were a little excessive years before joining this site.
Nice prose... but are you "man" enough for Haiku's?

    Winter morning ride,
clearing the clouds of my mind.
    The winding road calls.

      What? A challenge?

      Riding with the wind,
      heart and mind now contented.
      Fall colors my path.

Mind you, I haven't had my coffee yet...
Just wait until I wake up a bit more.

      "Man enough"... oh please...

Me? excessive? naw... could never happen...

          I got your Haiku...

          I changed a Windows haiku:

          Yesterday it worked
          Today it is not working
          FJ's are like that

          Gone but never Forgotten:
          1980 XS11SG - "Scorpion"

          Current:
          2006 Yamaha FJR1300A - "Orion"
          2007 Honda CBR600RR - "Twitch"

"Life is not a journey to the grave, with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body; but rather to skid on broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming:

          WOW - What a ride!

Oh boy, oh boy!! Another thread started by Wildcat. This is gonna be fun. Git 'em guys!!!!

I will bow out of this one, I have enough paybacks coming from her, and we will be face to face next weekend. Hopefully my forum status will be my diplomatic immunity from revenge or paybacks.

John, feel free to jump in anytime here. Needin someone to cover my "6".

I liked the imagery on your first one mro... the second one though... not quite so much...

Hey Greg, I'd be upset by yours... if it weren't true...

Alright Spiderman... I'm keeping score here.. and I have a question... I live with a SUPER Guru who doesn't have immunity...
and you think you might? I don't think so...

I think you misunderstood the intent of my post

The implication was not that I was hiding behind John's status as a Super Guru and the benefits of his supreme status... The implication was that he is not exempt from certain things... so if he is Super Guru... and you are merely XSive Maximus... you could not possibly be exempt.

Before you cause more trouble... This does not mean I do not respect the Gurus... I am MOST humbled by their awesome knowledge, nor does it imply that I am in anyway diminishing the absolute power of John (okay... maybe not absolute).
It is simply saying that... you could very possibly be a payback target without exemption...

                    Super Guru, Super Shmuru!

Follow the numbers. John registered 2 months before me, has racked up 2.81 posts per day, 1.11 more per day than me. He just has more butt & keyboard time, that's all!

I had six months of 'butt time' last year. Did a lot o' fluffin' during that time.
And besides, I didn't ask for the title, it was thrust upon me.

Yes, we all have our cross to bear don't we

If we put you and WildKat together, would that make Kinga nd Queen GURU?

Oh, sorry, that would be Queen and King, wouldn't it?

                          The cross is so heavy

But the view from the top is pretty cool.
The 'Queen' would just be a figure head when it comes to understanding these bikes, but she's smart and learning all the time though.
