How about in the Classified Ads section, too? Any chance of removing those and banning whatever handle put them there, if they are indeed spam?

There are ads there from Bangalore, Indiana (*cough, cough* yeah right) and Darjeeling, CA as well as Darjeeling, Other Places. They're in all catagories except 'bikes for sale' and 'parts for sale'. I don't know much about computers and how spammers work, but the ads sound suspiciously like the subject lines for spam I get in my email.

      Hey Erik,

Thanks for the heads up. I never check the classifieds, so I wasn't aware of a spamming problem there!?

I'll look into it, and remove the offending material!

BTW, Prom, JP set the rules for inappropriate language, and has filters in place for those special 4+ letter words. Surprisingly, in your recent post, "hell" is allowed! This is an open website, and children can access it, hence the good language!

          Well,

The classifieds are a different section than the XS11.com Forum and site, and I don't have the ability to remove the spammers!

I'll check with JP to see what might be done!

            "Oh... Oh... Heck!"

            Thanks for the info, T.C.
            That explains something...
Years back, I had sent a PM once to another member(actually now... thinking about it, I might have sent it to you).
Anyway... the person I sent it to replied(My post was referenced at the bottom of his reply) and one of my milder words that I had written, in the reply looked like this(****).
I thought,"Geez, that T.C. sure is a prude... edits my verbage!"
Just what words aren't allowed, T.C.?

Hhmmm... I just did a search for several off-color "keywords" but they didn't show up. I was expecting to be sent to a post that had been corrected. My search for **** turned up nothing, as well.
While I was on the main page, I noticed we have another new member, "Pink Pantes".
Yup... it's another one of those sites

                Deleted new members

                Hi newbie here

I was just reading this thread about new members being deleted coz they're spammers and have read Mathh Huskins post about new members struggling to register (Mathh had struggled to register for YEARS)

A friend has stuggled to register for a long time and I was wondering if you were deleting him (and maybe Mathhs previous attempts) coz he looked a spammer.

I've recently PM'd an administrator (JP I think) to ask for help for my friend in registering.

                Any thoughts?

                cheers Tom

Unless they're putting porn websites in their profile, I doubt that's the issue with them.

I hope you can get them registered though!! I hate to think that we've missed seeing great bikes like Mathh's because someone couldn't register.

                      Hey Prom,

The basics like FiretrUCK, sheisthead, sheist, fothermucker, PI ss,
                      so...please behave!!

TomB in the UK, the website requires a REAL email address that a confirmation email can be sent and needs to be responded to, so I don't know what problems they encountered. WE have folks from the UK and elsewhere on here, so can't determine the reason why they had trouble.

I have only just this week deleted these new members that had the Porn sites or Spam selling in their Profile Web sites.

Mates bike is well worth a look, he's put pictures on the UK forum and technical write ups which you folks have commented on, on here a few times.

AlanB if you want to look at his mods http://www.benefiscal.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=851.0

Alan thinks it may be an email issue as well.
