I wonder if it will work for Strombergs.. I think they are a far superior carb! How 'bout a manifold for that Holly 750 double pumper you have sittin'around collecting dust. All you have to do is drill a 4 inch hole in the bottom and top of your tank, run a piece of 4 inch pipe through it, and bolt that massive carb on top!!! What a setup.
If it aint broke....it aint mine!:(

Hmmmm...I wonder why those have been on a shelf for 25 years? And why are they so rare?

I fool around with building boats. One of the first books I read about boat design was "If you have an idea for a boat design and have never seen one like it, there is probably a good reason."

Why not! Lets just put petcocks all over the tank. That way we don't have to move them. And did you know that if you take your bike to the southern hemisphere, your engine runs in the opposite direction too? This reminds me of the like I saw today:

We need to keep this a rolling thread I think.

Up for consideration... is this beautiful 1982 XS1100 Special!! With only 3499 miles... but has needed the head replaced from an XJ! Check this bike out that's "Suitable for a colector!" lol.. man... there have been 2 bids on it. There's a sucker born every minute! Poor guy.

                  Auction number 110055762954

This is what I wrote him... tempted to email the bidders... but honestly not my business I guess. I just hate to see people suckered.

"There is no such thing as a 1982 XS1100... special or otherwise. It is also VERY doubtful that the miles are original sincew what you have is an earlier 80's model XS 1100 with the head off of an '82 XJ1100. I doubt that a bike with less than 4,000 miles would need the head replaced. You can also buy odometers that say anything. The YICS valve cover you see is on top of a head that is much wider on the back side to allow for the YICS ports (That have obviously been plugged off... or should have been. Maybe an indication of why it doesn't run well if they haven't been.)
Anyway.. good luck. But your buyer IS being very mis-informed. "

Well... now I won't feel guilty. Ebay has changed it to where you can't see WHO bid... let alone write to them. Oh well. The reserve hasn't been met anyway... so maybe they won't get reamed! lol.

                        Hey Tod,

That's not a XJ head, that's the way the 81SH was made, blackened jugs, bare head with blackened valve cover, looks just like mine did many a year ago! The gauges look OEM, proper 85MPH, not faded, kept indoors most likely, so the mileage could be accurate!? Probably just a matter of registered in 82, common misidentification from it vs. the VIN which was NOT posted. Bet if he posted it, it would be a 4RO series!

But, yeah, interesting about Ebay changing, hiding the bidders ID's!

I currently have some stuff up for auction and you can still see ID's. It must be a listing option. Seems kinda shady to want to set up an auction that way.
