Actually, I'm hoping if I ignore it long enough...one 'O those neighbors will get irritable enough to mow it for me!

My truck is a 3/4 ton truck. That means the load carrying capacity is 1500 pounds. The transfer tank holds 425 gallons, which weighs nearly 3500 pounds!
            Going through my notes....

The Jeep J series trucks (1963 to 1987) had various options such as the 401 cu in V-8, and automatic (TH400 or TF727) transmissions if you didn't like the available 3 and 4-speed manuals. Dana 60s (full and semi-floating) were stock in the 3/4 ton models. The 1970 3/4 ton J4800 was listed at 8,000 pounds GVWR. By comparison, the 2007 Dodge Dakota 3/4 ton is listed at 6,010 pounds GVWR. Dodge has nothing over these early Jeeps in terms of hauling capacity and heavy-duty components. Options were/are available to bring the GVWR ratings higher; figures for both the Jeep and Dodge are stock packages and don't reflect the maximum packages available.

The Jeep is not nearly as comfortable as your Dodge, though...

Just happens I am going over to look at a J-20 (3/4 ton) pickup tonight, and was doing research into these trucks so I would have an idea of what to look for.

                towing

save a little $$ over the hard to find stuff and settle for an old rusty ford with the i-6. you wont get anywhere in a hurry or with any kind of fuel economy but its a towing sob.
