Riding in winter

When I was in college in Wisconsin, back on the 70s, my Honda 175 and Bridgestone 200 were my only sources of transportation. I rode them all year. I rode that Bridgestone at least a couple times when the snow was up to the front axle. I rode it, instead of the Honda, because it had knobbies.

Sadly, this late in my life, I lack that challenge. I still ride my cycles during every month, every year, but since I live - like Webbcraft - in Austin, that really lowers the heroics factor substantially. When it is 75 in January it just doesn't seem like much of a sacrifice.

Now this afternoon, when I ride my Shadow home at 105 or so (degrees, not mph), it will make those remembrances of snowfall seem like a refreshing and welcome respite....

I agree that winter riding should not count as such if the temp is above 50 f.

I like to ride, but after hearing of some of the conditions in the Great White Nortth, I will not say that I am an ALL weather rider.

right now it is about 65 here but i did just have a nice ride in the rain.yes it rains here even in july.i decided to ride because it was raining,is that weird?
