With the current high bidder's name listed as "Private"... makes me think he or a buddy is elevating the bid to try to get at least what they want for the bike.
I have had this done to me before on bids... someone run my bid up to maximum at the last minute... then retract their bid once it bypasses mine. I turned it into Ebay... but never heard another word back on it. I bought it anyway since that was the price I thought it was worth... but still pissed me off.

Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
You can live to be 100, as long as you give up everything that would make you want to live to be 100!

Private auctions are sketchy to me. Many say they're using it to protect their buyers identities, but I dunno. There are a lot of scams running about using names collected on bid pages.
Sure makes schilling easier, though.
Yet another reason you should wait until the absolute last second to make your opening (and hopefully closing) bid.
All bidding before the end of the auction does is raise the price....
