so, i just got the bike up and running 2 days ago. repaired the transmission, rebuilt the carbs, new clutch cable, new throttle cable, new battery. I brought it to the dealership to get a new rear tire.
well, someone brought in an atv to have some nerf bars put on, and did a wheelie in the parking lot, lost control and slammed down on my bike.
He broke the seat studs, crushed the rear fender, broke all the lights, broke the tachometer, knocked a fuel line loose, and put some new scratches on it.
Well, after all that, the guy is paying the dealer to fix it, and I am the proud owner of a 2006 yamaha v-star custom 1100.
so as of now I am no longer a member, but I enjoyed my 3 weeks of ownership, but in the long run decided against repairing all of the damage and other problems that still needed attention.
thanks for all the help over the past weeks,
steve
