I bought this parts bike last mth. Just taking the rest of motor apart this morning. Appears to have an aftermarket set of pistons in it. Much bigger bore on cylinder jugs as well.... Approx 3 inch One piston has some slight damage to piston bearing cap. Nothing else. needs to be replaced. PO never mentioned it had been punched up. Bike had 24,000 miles. These pistons look like they were just put in. Anyway Cylinder jugs with 4 pistons and rings.for sale. Price will include shipping in continental USA $290.00 andreashweiss@yahoo.com

Yes an FJ can be bored to 1300. As a matter of fact it is called an XJR1300 and is sold in Europe.
It is the same engine family as the FJ1200-1100. But as you well know these are NOT xs11 motors.
However Da Hodges tells me the XS11 can be bored up a big as 1400cc! Ya have to remove the sleeves...bored the aluminum block up and installed custom oversized sleeves. But apparently there is enough metal in thsoe fins to go that big.
Mind bending...NO?

The wrist pin is not damaged. One of the two removeable wrist pin caps has some nicks in it. The wrist pin is held in place by these two floating caps. No digital camera. Part is made of alum,Look very much like a small piston, it slides onto end of wrist pin and just sits there held in place by cylinder wall I assume. Piston and cylinder bore are just shy of 3 inch. andreas

.. wow, i know what you are talkin about. two years ago i rebuilt an old shovel head motor, the pistons i put in it had white plastic pucks on both sides of the wristpins, instead of cir-clips. the wristpins could float but would not touch the clyinders. there is no side load on the wrist pins, so there is no need for clips, just the soft plugs that skim the walls of the cylinders like the piston skirts. nifty idea.
i dont have the dough, or i would buy
